Costa Cruises Health & Safety FAQ's
Do I need a vaccine to travel on a Costa Cruise?
Most destinations included in these itineraries impose vaccination as an entry requirement for foreign travelers. Therefore, all Guests who have booked or will book a cruise in the 2022 season in the Caribbean and the United Arab Emirates must have completed the complete vaccination cycle.
Guests are considered fully vaccinated if they have received their second dose in a 2-dose series, (or single dose e.g. in case J&J vaccine) at least 14 days prior to the cruise.
Can we have mixed vaccinations?
Guests who received mixed combination of COVID-19 vaccine are accepted as long as they are able to show a fully vaccinated proof as provided by their relevant health authority.
We do not collect vaccination cards or store proof of vaccination. Those cruise lines that have vaccine requirements to cruise will likely ask for proof at the time of boarding.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Costa will require protective masks (surgical or higher protection masks) must be worn when in public areas while on board.
Can I get off the ship at port?
In order to protect your health Costa requires all guests to purchase one of their safe shore excursions to get off the ship through March 31, 2022.
- Costa excursions have new procedures to ensure social distancing, thanks to limited group size and the use of disposable headphones to make for a better experience.
- Costa buses are sanitized after every use and will have reduced occupancy.
- Additional health screenings may be required by local health officials before disembarkation in certain ports
These restrictions are under the control of local government and are subject to change without advance notice, so we encourage guests to come prepared for potential mask requirements ashore.
